Cookie Policy
Last updated: July 2026
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device to make things work, remember your preferences or understand how the site is used. Similar technologies (such as local storage) are covered by this policy too.
2. The cookies this site uses
This site runs on WordPress and sets only essential cookies — the ones needed for the site to function and stay secure. Depending on how you use the site, these may include a short-lived test cookie that checks whether your browser accepts cookies (wordpress_test_cookie), security and session cookies used when someone signs in to manage the site, and preference cookies for signed-in administrators. Exact names can vary between WordPress versions.
We do not use advertising cookies, social media trackers, or any technology that follows you across other websites. Our estimate calculator and contact form work without storing anything on your device beyond the essentials above.
3. Consent, and why we don’t show a cookie banner
UK law (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, as amended by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 with effect from February 2026) requires consent for cookies unless they are strictly necessary or fall within specific low-risk categories such as security, appearance and basic statistics. Because this site only sets essential cookies, no consent banner is required — but we still tell you what we use, which is the purpose of this page.
If we ever add tools that need consent (for example, advertising pixels) or low-risk analytics, we will update this policy first and, where consent is required, ask for it before those tools run.
4. Managing cookies
You can view, block or delete cookies through your browser settings — every major browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge) has controls under its privacy settings, including options to clear cookies for a single site. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of a website working properly.
5. Third-party content
Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts. This does not set cookies, but your browser does send a request (including your IP address) to Google’s servers to fetch the font files. See our Privacy Policy for more on third-party services.
