Keeping books useful for longer.
Our aim is simple: keep good books in circulation, put useful educational books back into learning, and recycle responsibly when a book has reached the end of its readable life.
We would rather talk about where books go than make big claims about ourselves.
Another reader before anything else.
Books that are still enjoyable and useful should stay in use. We sort donated books with reuse in mind first, so a finished book can become somebody else's next read.
Educational books go back to schools.
All suitable educational books we receive are set aside for donation to schools and learning settings. That includes children's learning books, revision materials and textbooks that still have something useful to give.
Worn out does not have to mean wasted.
Books that are too damaged or outdated to be useful again can be directed towards responsible recycling where possible, instead of being treated as ordinary rubbish.
Access to books is not equal.
For some children, having books of their own is still far from guaranteed. Giving useful educational books another life can put more reading and learning material where it is needed.
We do not treat donated school books as general stock. Suitable educational material is separated so it can be donated back into education.
